Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge - Give A Hoot!

Hi folks! I hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start! Today's card is for the Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge, which actually started last Sunday, but better late than never, right?! Lol. It's been a very hectic week!

In honor of Earth Day, the required elements are an owl & something recycled. For challenge details & to enter click HERE. You can also check out the fab projects from my Getting Cricky Design Team sisters! It is still open for another week (until May 5th), so come on over & play with us! The winner will receive a surprise K Andrew Designs stamp set!

Here is my card....

The card base is white cardstock & the size is 4 x 8". All of the paper is from the DCWV "The Green Stack", which is made from 70% recycled paper. The only thing that isn't from this stack are the green stems, for which I used some shiny green paper from my scraps. All of the critters & the grass are either punched or hand cut elements from the stack.

I went kind of punch crazy with this card! My father in law just bought me some brand new Martha Stewart punches from HSN & they are soooo awesome! For the flower tops I used my Fiskars scalloped circle punch, regular circle punch & the "Circle Loop" punch from Martha Stewart. For the stems I used the "Trellis Loop Trim" punch from Martha Stewart. I snipped off some of the loops to make them look more like stems. I inked most of the edges with Martha Stewart ink in "Chocolate".

The sentiment is from the K Andrew Designs stamp set called "Winter Wishes". I heat embossed it using Recollections embossing powder in "Clear Bark".

Getting Cricky "Show Us Your Style" Design Team Blog Hop

Hi friends! I'm so happy you could join us for this month's Getting Cricky Design Team Blog Hop!!  We have an EXTRA SPECIAL hop for you this month -- For the past week we've been celebrating the BRAND NEW additions to our Getting Cricky team by showcasing some of our favorite K Andrew Designs stamp sets...

And NOW, we'd like for you to get to know more about us and our very special Guest Designer (and former Getting Cricky Design Team Sister), Larelyn from Handmade from My Heart!!

If you've hopped along from Patti's blog then you are in the right place!! If you are just joining me from your dashboard, or reading this via email, please be sure to CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Kristal's blog (you'll want to catch up on all the FUN!!)...

Each of Kristal's stamp sets benefit charity. At least $1 per stamp set goes to benefit the charity noted on the stamp set package. Kristal is donating to the following charities: Cancer Angels, Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children, Intrepid & Fallen Heroes, E. Glaser Pediatric AIDS  Foundation, Doorways Shelter for Women & Children (Domestic Violence), Wayside House for Women, Camp Good Days & Special Times, Adopt a Classroom, and Autism Research Institute. Kristal will donate $1 for every stamp set sold, retail or wholesale to the charity noted; and over time believes this will add up to some wonderful miracles for these special people. So you can feel good that each time you purchase a K Andrew Designs stamp set, someone around the country is receiving some good help!

K Andrew's stamps are all made and assembled here in the USA, which is very important to Kristal. This ensures all product materials are safe and that jobs are being provided and maintained here in America.  You can learn even more about Kristal's stamps (and pick some up for yourself) by visiting her online store K Andrew Designs....

For my project, I'm featuring the Owly Hoo Sentiments and Winter Wishes stamp sets:

And here's my project!...

This is a 5" square card base, using Kraft cardstock. I used my Imagine machine for this card. All of the images & patterned papers are from the "Better Together" cartridge. The hearts are from the stock images that come with the Imagine machine, cut at 5", 4.5" and 4". The girl/dog image is from page 20 and is cut at 3". The image is mounted using pop-dots. The pearls are from Darice. I inked all of the edges with some Martha Stewart ink in "Chocolate". I added & tied the little pink bows to her hair using some Offray ribbon. And of course the stamps are from K Andrew Designs, using the sets shown above & Tim Holtz Distress Ink in "Walnut Stain".

What is my style? Well, I love anything & everything having to do with animals - specifically dogs. Although this card is more serious, I mostly make projects that are fun & whimsical. The thing I love most about Kristal's stamps is that I can always create the perfect sentiment because her stamps are so versatile & have so many mix & match possibilities. In addition to animals, I also love using flowers & hearts. I'm not a girly girl in real life at all, but in my crafting I totally am! I like to use soft pastel colors as well as bright & fun colors, depending on my mood, lol. Also, I am totally obsessed with details - probably too much! Thank you so much for hopping by tonight!

*** Remember -- As a special THANK YOU for joining us in welcoming the new team this week, you can use the promo code "letshavefun" at checkout for 20% OFF your ENTIRE stamp purchase!! Be sure to take advantage of this special before it's GONE!!  :)

It's Baby Shower Time!

Hi there everyone! My daughter-in-law is having a baby (due July 7) so it's shower time! Her mom and I are co-hosting and my first duty is to make the invitations. What started out as a small get together has exploded into a full blown event! When I started on this endeavor there were only going to be about 30 invitations, which is no problem, right? Well....the guest count keeps climbing and I now have to make 75 of these! Yikes! I am the WORST mass producer ever! My pace is naturally very slow and I'm obsessed with details, but if I'm ever going to finish I have to keep it simple and not obsess over every little thing. This presents quite a challenge for me! I'm actually pretty happy with how they turned out.....

The base is very heavy cream cardstock, sized at 4-1/4 x 5-1/2". I don't know who makes this particular cardstock - I've had a giant stack of it, which my mom gave to me about 2 years ago, lol. I finally found a use for it! The pregnant girl image is from the "Everyday Pop-Up Cards" cartridge (pg. 56), cut at 3-1/2". I used my Imagine and flood filled the image using the color palette from the "Nursery Tails" cartridge. The "It's A Shower" stamp is just one giant stamp, from EK Success. The ink is "Walnut Stain" Distress Ink by Tim Holtz. I rounded the corners with a Fiskars punch. The little pearls are from my stash. I used Stickles in "Star Dust" on the bottom of her dress and on her shoes.

The "Sweet Baby" sentiment is from two different sets by K Andrew Designs. "Sweet" is from the "Sweet Wishes" set, which was a bonus set offered last Christmas season. "Baby" is from the "Owly Hoo Sentiments" set. They are stamped with Martha Stewart ink in "Hibiscus", which I also used to ink the edges.

*** Just a reminder that there is a HUGE sale going on right now at K Andrew Designs. All you have to do is enter the code **letshavefun** at checkout and you will receive 20% off your entire order!*** Isn't that fab?! In addition, the Getting Cricky Design Team is showcasing specific stamp sets each day and there will be even more discounts on the featured sets! So let's get right to it shall we?! Here is my project with all the details & info listed below....

The card size is 5 x 7" and the base is Kraft cardstock. This entire card was done with my Imagine machine, using the color pallette from the "Imagine More Cards" cartridge to flood fill the images. The owls are from the Cricut Lite cartridge "Hoot 'n' Holler" and the tree limb is from "Create a Critter". I embossed the tree limb with the "Distressed Stripes" Cuttlebug folder and embossed the leaves with the "D'Vine Swirls" folder. The patterned background paper is from Paper Pizazz. I used Stickles in "Lime Green" to accent the leaves and "Black Diamond" for the little spot on the red owl's tummy. The rhinestone flowers are from Darice.

Now onto the best part..... the stamps!! My featured stamp set is called "Owly Hoo Sentiments". All of the wording and the little hearts came from this set. Here is a picture of this awesome set!....

Isn't this such an adorable set?! Her stamp sets are so versatile that the possibilities are virtually endless! As you can see, it can be used for WAY more than just owl-related projects. Actually, I am currently working on some baby shower invitations featuring this stamp set!

Monogram Cards

Hi everyone! I hope everyone's weekend is off to a fabulous start! I want to share a few of the monogram cards I made as a birthday gift for my aunt Janet. I also made all the coordinating envelopes. I will post the details below each card. I hope you like them! . . . .

This card is 4" square & the base is plain white cardstock. (By the way, I used my Imagine for all of these cards). All the papers & images came from the "Best Friends" cartridge, except the monogram which is from "Elegant Cakes". The little blue square in the middle is some glitter paper from my stash. I used Glossy Accents on the birds & monogram.  *** I used the "Wild Card" cartridge (pg. 81) for all of the envelopes. ***

This card is 4 x 5" & the base is plain white cardstock. All of the papers & images came from the "Best Friends" cartridge, except the monogram which is from "Art Philosophy". I also used Glossy Accents, Stickles & some rhinestones from my stash. I inked some of the edges with VersaColor ink in "Umber".

This card is 4 x 5" & the base is white cardstock. It's kind of hard to tell but the color in person is actually a pale pink - it looks really light in this photo, but it's a little more pink in person. Everything on this card is from the "Baby Boutique" cartridge. The center oval is embossed with my Cuttlebug, using the "D'Vine Swirls" folder. I also used some silver Stickles & inked the edges with black Hero Arts ink.

Thanks for visiting me! Have a great weekend!!

My First Design Team!!

Hi my favorite peeps! I have some projects to post later but I just had to stop & let y'all know that I got picked to be on Kristal Andrew's Getting Cricky Design Team!! It's the only DT I have ever really applied for & she is my favorite designer! How lucky am I?! When I first read my name I thought there must be another person named Diana Martin & she couldn't possibly mean me, lol. So, after re-checking her post about 100 times I think it's finally starting to sink in. Now I'm nervous - and excited - oh I don't know - I'm kinda freakin out right now!

Well . . . . . I just had to tell someone other than my husband & my dogs & since I live on an isolated mountain you guys are pretty much it, lol. I am so grateful & thankful to Kristal for choosing me & I will do the best job I possibly can to represent her awesome stamps!

To see the DT announcement & check out her blog click HERE.

To purchase her stamps and/or visit her online store click HERE.

One of the things I love about Kristal's stamps is that every purchase benefits a charity.
